Features

Everything your family needs, in one app.

Radius puts your whole family on one private map and gives you the safety tools you'll actually use. Every feature is included for everyone on your plan. No upgrades, no ads, and no surprises.

Safety

Help is one hold away.

These are the features built for the days that don't go to plan. They're fast, they're simple, and they're built to cut through when you need them.

SOS

Press and hold the SOS button, and Radius sets off a loud alarm on the phones of the people you picked. On Android it rings even if they're on silent or Do Not Disturb. They'll see exactly where you are. You get a five-second countdown first, so a bump in your pocket won't send it by accident. When you're okay, tap "I'm safe now" and the alarm stops for everyone.

Your emergency contacts are right there on the same screen with one-tap calling, plus a Call 911 button. In a real emergency, always call 911 too.

Watch me get there

Walking to your car at night? Heading out on a first date? Tap Watch me on your own card and choose how long, or pick where you're going. If you haven't checked in by then, your phone asks if you're okay. No answer after five more minutes, and the people you trust get an alert with your location.

Arrive where you said and it switches off by itself. Radius keeps track of the time on our servers, so it still works if your phone dies.

Share where I am

Send your live location to anyone, even if they don't have Radius. Just tap Share where I am on the People tab and send the link from your own texts, WhatsApp or email. They'll see a map with your dot on it. That's it. No sign-up, no app, and they never see where you've been or anyone else in your family.

Share for 15 minutes, an hour, or four hours. Or pick "until I get to" one of your places, and it ends the moment you arrive. A bar at the top of Radius shows it's on, and you can stop it any time.

Who looked

Ever wondered who's been checking on you? Your own card shows who opened your card or your location history this week, and how many times. Just looking at the map doesn't count, only a real check.

Want a heads-up every time? Turn it on for any person on the People tab.

Landing alerts

Flying to see Grandma? Radius notices when you land and lets your family know where you touched down. There's no flight number to enter and nothing to set up. Their card shows something like "Flew from Chicago · landed in Denver 20 min ago."

Crash detection

If your phone senses a crash, Radius checks in with you first. If you don't respond, your family gets an alert with your location, so they know right where to find you.

Driving reports and speeding alerts

See every drive on the Activity tab with miles, top speed and hard braking. Get a heads-up when someone's speeding on a road with a known limit. Were you just a passenger? Mark the trip and it won't count toward your stats. When a drive ends, the people who get your driving alerts get a short summary.

Drive score

Every drive gets a score from 1 to 5 stars. Only the driver sees their own stars, and the family sees the weekly average. Going less than 10 mph over costs nothing, speeding counts once it's held for 30 seconds, and a drive that goes 30 or more over is capped at 2 stars.

Weekly report card

Every Sunday at 6 pm in your own time zone, you and the people who see you get the week's driving: miles, time behind the wheel, drives, time over the limit, hard brakes and the weekly score. Look back over 12 weeks.

Home by

Set a "home by" time for your child, or for yourself. The Sunday report card shows how the week went, like "Home by 11 all week" or "6 of 7." It never sends an alert on its own.

Severe weather alerts

When the National Weather Service issues a warning near someone in your family, like a tornado or flash flood, you'll get an alert naming everyone in the area. It's a quick way to know who to check on.

Low battery alerts

When someone's phone drops to 10%, the people who can see them get a heads-up. Now you'll know why their dot stopped moving, and you can ask them to charge up before it dies.

The map

Everyone you love, all in one place.

Live map

See everyone as they move, with their photo on the map, battery level and the weather where they are. Switch to satellite view any time.

Places

Save the spots that matter, like home, school, work and practice. Keep a place to yourself or share it with everyone who sees you.

Arrive and leave alerts

Know when the kids get to school or when your partner leaves work. Set it up for each person on the People tab.

Location history

Look back over the last 10 days in plain English, like "At Home 8:12 to 4:40, then a 22-minute drive to School." Jump to any day with the calendar.

Walks, runs and drives

Radius figures out whether each trip was a walk, a run or a drive, and colors it on the map so you can tell at a glance.

Directions to anyone

Get spoken turn-by-turn directions straight to where someone is right now, or to any saved place. Prefer Google Maps or Apple Maps? Open it there with one tap.

Share your ETA

Tap ETA on someone's card, pick a family place or search any business or address, and they'll see when you'll arrive. Updates come at 30, 20, 10, 5 and 1 minute out. If you can see where they are, they also get "leave in 12 minutes" so you both get there together. The route shows on the map.

Meet me

Invite someone to meet at a place you pick. They tap Yes or No, right on the notification. Say yes and you each see the other's countdown, and whoever gets there first just sees the other one's.

One-tap check-in

Made it? Tap "Check in" and everyone who sees you gets a quick note that you've arrived.

Walk and run routes

Draw a route or record one from the Activity tab, and it snaps to real streets and paths.

Find my phone

Lost your phone in the couch again? Sign in on the web and make it ring at full volume for a minute, even on silent. You'll also see where it was last.

Now playing

On Android, you can show the song you're listening to under your name. Tap someone else's song to play it in your own music app.

Talk

Stay in touch without leaving the app.

Private messages

Send texts, photos, videos and files one on one. Reply to a message, react to it, and search old chats. You can even pick a background you both share.

Read receipts that make sense

See when your message is sent, when it reaches their phone, and when they've read it.

You choose how long chats last

Messages clear from our servers after 14 days, or sooner if you like. Want to keep a conversation? Save it to your phone or your own Google Drive.

Voice and video calls

Call anyone in your family with one tap. Calls ring like a normal phone call, even when the app is closed, and they're never recorded. When a call goes through our relay servers, your phone picks the fastest one.

Keep talking while you multitask

Switch apps or lock your screen and your call keeps going. Earbuds connect automatically.

Faces on your notifications

Every message and call shows the person's photo, so you know who it is at a glance.

Your family

You're in control of who sees what.

Set up in minutes

Download the app and sign in, and your family plan is ready to go with a free 30-day trial. Invite people by email, or just send them your code.

Two simple switches

For each person, choose whether they can see where you are and whether they can see where you've been. Change it any time.

You decide who sees whom

Everyone on your plan can see you, the manager. After that, you choose who else can see each other, so new people only see what you allow.

More than one family

Belong to more than one family plan, with a tab for each in Settings. In someone else's family you see the people its manager lets you see, and leaving one family doesn't change the others.

Families in two homes

Kids with parents in two households can be on both parents' plans, with both parents' consent. Each parent sees their child, and neither parent sees the other.

Room to grow

Anyone on your plan can start their own family plan too, starting at $2.99 a month. Flying solo? Radius Solo is just $12.99 a year.

No surprises

Nobody joins your map without your okay. And whenever Radius is sharing your location, you'll always see a notice on your phone.

Block and report

Anyone bothering you can be blocked or reported right from their name on the People tab.

Incognito mode

Handing your phone to a friend? Hide everyone, or just a few people, behind your PIN. Nobody else's view of you changes.

Where it works

Made for families in the United States.

Works wherever your phone does

Location sharing, messages, calls, alerts, SOS and share links all work anywhere you have GPS and a data connection.

Maps everywhere

The phone apps use Google Maps on Android and Apple Maps on iPhone, so the map works worldwide. The web app's map covers the US, Canada and Mexico.

Directions and address search

Turn-by-turn directions and address search cover all 50 states.

iPhone, Android and the web

Radius is on Google Play now, and the iPhone app is coming soon to the App Store. You can also sign in from any web browser at radiusfamily.com/app to use the map, messages, SOS and more. You'll just need the phone app to share your own location.

Your account

Easy to sign in. Hard to break into.

radiusfamily.com R Two-factor code From your authenticator app 4 8 1 3 Sign in Codes change every 30 seconds

Sign in with Google, Apple or a code sent to your email. There's no password to remember. Add two-factor authentication on the web for extra peace of mind, and sign out any of your devices from Settings on the web. Manage your family plan in Settings, and if you ever decide to leave, deleting your account removes everything.

Kids and privacy

Why we ask a parent to say yes.

Radius asks for a birthday once, when you set up. We only use it to know which rules apply.

Kids under 13. Federal law, called COPPA, says we need a verified parent's permission before we collect anything from a child under 13, and that includes their location. So a parent does a quick one-minute ID check with a photo of their ID and a selfie. A trusted partner handles the check and only tells us it passed. Prefer not to use your ID? You can sign a paper form instead.

Teens 13 to 17. A parent agrees on their behalf, and we show your teen a simple explanation of how Radius works.

You can change your mind. A parent can take back their permission at any time, and Radius stops collecting right away, unless another parent's permission is still in place. Delete a child's account and everything about them goes too.
