About
That's why we built Radius. Life360's paid plans run from $9.99 to $24.99 a month (App Store prices, September 2026). Part of their business is advertising, the apps can drain every phone's battery, and the features you really want sit in the top tier. Radius gives you all of it: the live map, driving and crash alerts, unlimited places, messages with photos and video, voice and video calls, and directions to each other. It's $2.99 a month for a family of four, or $29.99 for the year. No ads, no upgrades, nothing held back.
Radius was started by a dad in Wisconsin who wanted exactly this for his own family. He didn't think knowing your kids got home safe should come with an advertising business attached. His family uses Radius every day, so every feature gets tested by the people he built it for.
The company is Radius Family LLC, a Wisconsin company. We have no investors to answer to and no side business selling data.
The big apps cost more because you're paying for their advertising, partner bundles and data deals. Radius doesn't do any of that. Your family pays a small price, and that's how we make our money. It's also why our privacy policy has no clause about selling your data.
Radius runs on three servers across the United States, in St. Louis, New York and Seattle, operated by Radius. Your family's positions, messages and history live there. Calls are never recorded anywhere.
A few outside services help with specific jobs. None of them are paid in your data, and none of them use it for advertising. Chat photos and videos, plus profile pictures, are stored with Cloudflare R2. Chat photos and videos stay for 14 days by default. weather.gov is asked about a person's location so we can find severe weather alerts. A parent's ID check goes through Didit. On phones, Google Maps (Android) and Apple Maps (iPhone) draw the map tiles, and the positions on that map stay on Radius's servers.
Routing, address lookup and call relays all run on our three servers. We don't buy them from a mapping company, so your family's data stays with us and nothing costs us extra every time you use it.
We won't bundle roadside assistance, identity-theft insurance or Bluetooth trackers into pricier tiers. That's how a location app turns into an insurance upsell, and it puts somebody's safety behind a paywall. Radius is one price with every feature for everyone on your plan. You can see it in how our pricing works.
Questions? A real person answers, usually the same day. Want in before the app stores? Join the launch list. Beta invites are going out while Radius is in family testing.
